MacFlite Software releases Trip Plan 1.0.12 for Mac OS X

Coconut Creek, Florida – MacFlite Software today is proud to announce Trip Plan 1.0.12, an update to their popular trip planning application for Mac OS X. Designed specifically for aviation professionals, Trip Plan is a unique trip planning solution for pilots. Developed from the ground up utilizing the latest Cocoa technologies, Trip Plan focuses on ease-of-use and sports a beautiful, yet comprehensive interface.

Trip Plan features detailed information for airports around the world, with a database of over 24,000 landing facilities and heliports worldwide. Its advanced search makes it very easy to find airports, even if the user doesn’t remember what the airport name or spelling is – which can be quite a challenge when looking for accurate data. Users can organize and name groups of airports according to their working style, be it trip numbers or geographical locations.

Along side the airport and FBO (fixed-base operations) information, the application also offers helpful hotel, transportation and catering info. And Skype users can take advantage of Trip Plan’s built-in Skype support too – one-click dialing to anywhere in the world. Trip Plan takes all the guess work out of pre-trip planning and facilitates printing airport information as well as schedules. Airport reports come in an 2 page easy-to-read print out along with all the FBO phone numbers and runway information.

Mac OS X: a Trojan in the pirated versions of iWork’09

January 26th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in MacOS

security trojan virus Mac OS X: a Trojan in the pirated versions of iWork09We could talk about karma, or beautiful sayings like “This is believed to be taken”, but the purpose is the same: Mac users who have downloaded some pirated copies of iWork’09 productivity suite have been infected by a horse of Troy.

The Trojan software center

Security is definitely not a part of Koh Lanta and-no “totem of immunity can not be won. At least 20 000 Mac owners have indeed said that it would be interesting to get the latest version of Apple’s office suite, but without paying the 79 dollars / euros requested. So they went to pick up their favorite tools P2P and recovered a pirate copy. Unfortunately, the copy contained a Trojan, named for the occasion by the publisher OSX.Trojan.iServices.A security Intego.

The ugly horse becomes comfortable in the Mac OS X at the same time as the software itself. It is in fact present in a package named iWorkServices.pkg itself into the body later. So when the user allows the application to settle, the Trojan can jump for joy and start to undermine its work.

It begins by defining it as a startup item and will be relaunched at each switch on the machine. It has all the necessary permissions (reading, writing and execution) to operate in “root”, and can connect to one or more remote servers to communicate with a character obviously malicious, or to download other components to infect machine. Google Chrome for Mac OS X

January 12th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in MacOS

Chrome Applesfera Google Chrome for Mac OS X

Last September we already announced in Applesfera out Google browser based on Webkit, named Chrome. The browser aroused the interest of many users, but unfortunately for the moment there is only one version for Windows XP and Windows Vista. However, the start of development of the second version of the browser suggests that this could change soon.

And that is for version 2.0 of Google Chrome, the browser will go to use the Windows HTTP libraries (so-called WinHTTP) to use a HTTP libraries own, thus easing the way for Chrome versions for Linux and Mac OS X.

With so many months of waiting, because I trust that we will not have to wait many weeks to see a beta version of Chrome for our platform, try to put it on the podium together with Safari and Firefox for Mac version.
