Safari 4 Public Beta first impressions

I play with the new public beta of Safari 4, both on Leopard and Windows 7 for hours. Here are my first impressions:
1. It is a bit slower on Windows in general. You do not know if it is in the final version, but it is remarkable.
2. The biggest difference you will notice that the chips have been displaced upwards. I am not a little, but I do not think it would take too long. This has the effect of signals from the Opera and Chrome. I wonder if each tab is its own process of chromium.
3. The Windows version actually looks like a Windows application … not like you dragged from Safari on a Mac to a Windows desktop Safari 3 and paste buttons on the window above.
4. The installation went well for me, but there are reports on the Internet that have problems. May you have to do with the plugins installed third. If this poses a problem for you, try removing and reinstalling Safari plugins.
5. The CoverFlow is merely a trick, but it takes a lot of CPU power to use and, therefore, is rather slow to load. I am also sure that I do not see the pages of my favorites. Favicons are usually sufficient, if designed properly.
6. Topsites. I love the look, but I would be able to view a 2D view as the fastest in Firefox and Opera. Once you delete one that is lost forever – I think – if it comes back again after the visit often. I expect to see more features in this field. They are slow to load the first time.
7. Blue is past the progress bar for loading pages. In addition, the “Update” button has been moved in the URL in the bar as the iPhone OS.
8. It’s fast, but not dazzling faster than other browsers. In a very complicated page in Gmail, I see small improvements in the speed of Firefox. It is not enough to make me switch to Firefox full time, but no improvement in speed is always good to see.
9. New CSS animations work. To see what I mean here in Safari 4. Those falling leaves are all in CSS. Also see here for more tips.
10. Smart Address field is a long delay for Firefox, but many have. May I like Safari better at first sight
11. Google Gears is not yet functioning. But no word on if and when Google will use is whether the ability of other off-line built in Safari.
12. In general, I think the update is very nice. I say this with nothing more than what he did. You can get started almost immediately and to operate as usual. The 150 new articles are not doing their normal work. However, if you want to take advantage of them, are where you want it to be.
