New hardware on the Mac portable III: Left and conclusions
After reviewing what was, at least from my point of view, it is essential (first and second), he plays with the rest going. Clustered, but no less important, since it is part of the hardware that you see: new LED screen, trackpad and multipoint unibody chassis.
LED screens
It was something that had been waiting a long time, at least in the MacBooks, 13 inches. LED screens represent a generational advance in respect of the LCD used previously, although as a whole, have their advantages and disadvantages.
First, the new LED screens bring a much lower consumption, which means that the autonomy of the final laptop is increased by quite remarkable. According to some basic tests, a laptop with LED display has a range of 30 to 60 minutes more than an LCD, depending on how you use it logically demonstrate to the device.
Besides the advantage of having lower consumption, an LED screen is much brighter than a LCD, and it reaches peak brightness much earlier than other screens. In fact, the LCD need ‘warm up’ for several minutes, which achieves an LED in just a few seconds.
My personal recommendation is that for the average user, an LED screen is much more colorful and comfortable. However, many users are already complaining that the LED screens are much worse for the programs they use, because the color and brightness are much more deformed in an LED to LCD in a mate.
This would not involve a serious problem if the MacBook Pro lets you choose between one type of screen and another, but after the changes in last October Apple offers only LED screens in all their laptops.
The main conclusion we can draw is that for the average user, an LED screen is much better: better battery, more shine … in general, higher quality. However, for professional users is something that has not finished off altogether.
Trackpad
If the LED screens was something that was clear he was going to get, the trackpad multipoint (or multitáctil) is not apparent, was a safe bet.
Apple has added an interface all its products multitáctil, both in hardware and in software, multi-use developments that are intended to give to new hardware.
In the case of the MacBook Pro, the previous generation of these laptops already brought a multipoint trackpad. In the new aluminum 13 as both MacBook Pro, this device has been evolved and as in their younger siblings before the button was acting in mouse click has been removed.
With this change, Apple has managed to achieve trackpads mutitáctiles of enormous dimensions, and with the button hidden behind the surface.

The trackpad multitáctil represents a clear evolution of the old one, which from my point of view was one of the best trackpads to be found in the market. In fact, I prefer to use it before you connect a mouse.
However, I was able to test the new trackpad on the MacBooks aluminum, and has not finished to convince me. The gestures I see them entirely useless, perhaps because they are accustomed to using a trackpad generic, and the absence of the button is something that is missing. Yes, if you press the trackpad at the bottom is a click … but, at least for me, is not like that.
I must also acknowledge that I am a rare case, since I know several people who are happy with their multitouch trackpad of its new MacBook.
Unibody chassis
The big news, in capital letters, since Apple said. In fact, a few days earlier were leaked a set of images (the “brick”) in which it was said, by then, he was a revolutionary method, a single piece of aluminum that form the outer casing of the new laptops.
Now is a fairly clear that this was largely a marketing strategy, sales, to attract attention. The unibody chassis say it’s revolutionary, which weighs less, which is finer and more beautiful.
Indeed, the MacBook aluminum are slightly thinner than previous generations, but not to excess. Just a few millimeters. That are most beautiful thing I think is also indisputable, and also add that the durability of new laptops with the aluminum enclosure is the main advantage that may occur. No tears, as they did (and do) the MacBooks plastic).
With aluminum has also reached a low weight, but with a MacBook Late 2008 in the hand, and a Late 2006 (mine) in the other, the difference is negligible.
With aluminum enclosure in one piece, Apple has achieved a very important achievement: to create a structure much more robust than that of previous generations of Mac laptops, where the main breaks, and we saw that came on the boards where he joined two pieces of computer. Now the problem is completely impossible to be in, because such unions no longer exist.
And thanks to the housing is now completely of aluminum, the dissipation of heat generated by the internal hardware is done in a much more optimal, so much so that many of the ventilation slots which were in plastic MacBooks now have disappeared into the model of aluminum.

Conclusions
The entire new range of MacBooks have been completely renovated, and possibly has been the biggest update that have suffered the portable Mac.
However, there is still lying in a number of things missing. For example screens mate, important for the professional sector, or greater connectivity (Firewire, more USB ports, HDMI instead of Mini-DisplayPort …). Having tested a MacBook aluminum small, I must say that has given me the feeling of being at a computer noticeably better than previous generations in all aspects.
Logically, this impression is given by the primary visual contrast, the housing, much more robust and resistant than the plastic. Before giving the impression that we were driving a toy computer, now … is really something else.
In the performance of the operating system I have not noticed any significant differences, although it is true that in some applications that require high-powered graphics (video games, mainly), the differences are quite remarkable.
In general, all changes are better, much better, and users who already have a MacBook now notice a huge difference with the new models. Sizes have been kept, but have been renovated completely in almost all respects.
