The first navigation system offline for iPhone
December 19th, 2008 Posted in Software

Google Maps came with iPhone and iPod touch is certainly an excellent program, convenient and fast, but it can not be considered a satellite navigation program to all intents and purposes, given the need to be connected to the network to display maps and the lack of navigation voice, typical of dedicated models.
G-Map is the first navigation software available for iPhone App Store in a position to bridge the gap, and complete with all the functions normally found in satellite navigation systems, such as the management of points of interest, visualization and 3D preview Route. It is still hand navigation voice, which should perhaps wait TomTom, which however does not have more news.
Unfortunately, the version currently contains only maps of the United States of Alaska and western, but developers are planning to have ready a version with European maps by the end of the first quarter of 2009. By the end of December will be available with the maps of the eastern United States.
The cost to the current version (in English) is € 15.99. Emphasis on: G-Map requires almost 1 GB of space for street maps.
It is compatible with both iPhone iPod touch.
