Mono brings. NET 2.0 on Mac

It ‘just been released pending the version 2.0 of Mono, the open source project that aims to obtain a free implementation of the platform. NET Microsoft, available for Mac OS X and Linux.
The project, led by Miguel de Icaza of Novell, the oceanic proprietary version of Microsoft ever since it was born, 7 years ago, but now has significantly reduced distances, implementing a complete version 2.0 of the platform, plus several Key features of version 3.0 and even 3.5, including full support to the language C # 3.0.
This helps to make, without modification, many more applications (about 45% of the applications. NET is able to run on Mono unchanged, 18% require minor modifications, while 20% require more substantial changes). Less than 20% of the applications currently available is not compatible with the open platform.
E ‘be noted that despite the lack of sympathy which can enjoy a platform partorita by Microsoft to Apple users, is pretty versatile (allowing you to use different programming languages and, under Mac OS X, to use the framework to exploit Specific features of the system, such as Cocoa and POSIX libraries), and will have access to a number of good programs, like the excellent graphics editor Paint.NET.
