MindWave is an application, available through AppStore, which generates specific audio frequencies that can stimulate the brain in different ways, so as to facilitate meditation, sleep, concentration and so on.

MindWave exploits the “Binaural Beats”, a recording technique by which are then reproduced different frequencies in each ear, so as to obtain specific results.

The difference between the two sounds (to the left and right) causes sensations only in the mind concerning the type of sound. For example, if a steady tone of 359Hz (1 Hertz = 1 pulse per second), is applied left ear, and another steady tone of 405Hz is applied right ear, the difference of 10Hz will be perceived by your brain; and what ‘the boost in different ways (definition taken from this link)

So MindWave is the first of its kind available for iPhone (Ambience and high similar programs do not have the same end and not exploit the “Binaural Beats”): the noise that plays are designed to influence the mood of those who heard them .

Logically listening to different sounds should be made through headphones to achieve the desired results.

There are 10 types of “incentives”:

* “Study Aid” helps concentration and learning ability
* “Sleep Induction”: a difference between the frequencies below 3Hz helps to sleep
* “Relaxation” ideal after a stressful day, helps to relax passing between 14Hz and 12Hz difference between the two tones. From listening to 10 minutes.
* “Deep Meditation”: to listen if you want to enter into a state of deep meditation.
* “Mentally Refreshed: to listen for 5-10 minutes to” refresh “the mind
* “Coffee”: scoltando these frequencies should have the same effect as a cup of coffee, with positive benefits for their energy
* “Creativity Boost” These frequencies are to influence the creative part of the brain
* “Get Focused”: to increase the concentration
* “Weightloss / Quit Smoking” is the only item on which I have serious doubts, as it should serve to give the impression to our brain that the muscles are working. It should also serve to lose the habit of smoking …
* “Headache Treatment” useful for passing the headache

MindWave is undoubtedly a fascinating and well done and I must say that trying some sounds you notice some effect, the developer has also promised to issue new presets each month.
