Waretown, NJ – Announcing that G.M.Y.C. Applications today released Yachts for iPhone and iPod Touch users. As the only program about mega yachts available in the App Store, Yachts 1.1 is getting scooped up by consumers wanting to see how the ‘other half’ lives and by yacht enthusiasts who enjoy reading the stats of each craft.

Yachts contains photos and statistics for 50 of the largest and most expensive pleasure yachts in the world. Price tags for these beauties range from $50 million to $500 million dollars, proving that an economic downturn does not affect the super rich. Each yacht has a rank that is based on size, price and amenities and all are guaranteed to be amazing examples of what happens when wealthy people try to out-do each other.

All yachts carry an array of lavish amenities and they are noted in the app, whether Olympic size pools, discos, recording studios, bowling alleys or submarines and helicopters.

The 1.1 version of Yachts has a clean, contemporary photo viewing feature befitting the majestic vessels being showcased. The addition of a floating, opaque information screen is a unique element in this latest release, as well. A single tap of the screen will reveal the statistics and characteristics of each mega yacht, such as length, weight, structural material, fuel capacity and maximum speed. There is even a little about the owners mentioned.

The developers have future plans to incorporate in-app purchases, swipe and pinch gestures, as well as a live RSS feed to provide the latest yacht industry news.

Mac OS X 10.6.2 fixes several problems with Photoshop

November 11th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in MacOS, Software

photo shop update

Although the list of issues resolved by the expected version of Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and in itself is quite extensive, it appears that the 500 Mb of this update (version combo, the custom for each team is much more light) still keep more juice from your lines of code. Thus, Adobe reported a series of errors affecting different versions of Photoshop and are now water under the bridge:

* Application occasionally would hang while opening or saving a file.
* Some images are not opening when dragged on the application icon in the Dock or in the case of the CS4 version, only one of them did as they crawled several.
* Crashes or errors in the program when using the Menlo typography in Photoshop and Premiere CS3 and CS4.
* The cursor does not display properly in Photoshop CS4.
* The option “Edit in Photoshop CS4″ did not work in 64-bit version of Lightroom on Mac OS X 10.6

* You could not drag items from the Safari icon in Photoshop (among other applications) in the Dock to open them.

As you see, is good news. In my particular problem when you drag images to the Dock icon to open them was giving me real headaches.

mobileme idisk MobileMe iDisk now available on the App Store

Finally, after having seen the track at the WWDC last June and no sign of life so far, Apple has launched the implementation of the iDisk in the App Store for all owners of a MobileMe.

The application lets you see the files stored on your iDisk, access to public folders for users, share your files easily from the iPhone or iPod touch, re-view the files visited recently with a direct access and view documents from iWork , Office, QuickTime or PDFs directly from the application, but warn that we could have problems with files larger than 20MB.

The application is free to all users, but needs the iPhone OS 3.0 and, of course, an active MobileMe account as it is the service provided by the online iDisk space.
