3g 300x168 New evidences reveal a possible MacBook able to use the network 3G

A new supply of use published by Apple finishes reviving the rumor: we could have a MacBook able to work with the moving grids 3G this same summer thanks to the inclusion of a new chip in an update of range. DONOTCHANGE

Concretely, the supply of work asks for a person who is enabled to realise tests with cards 3G in the section of hardware Mac de Apple (that is to say, not in iPhones or iPod touch), and in addition it exactly asks for knowledge of all the characteristics on which the present MacBook counts.

Seen the rumor, and knowing that in the WWDC we will have new iPhone with security enough, it is possible that some type of contract with the operators appears to us who already work with iPhone in which she is surrounded some type of MacBook equipped with technology 3G. It is little more of a month for the event.

Speeding Up Login By Slowing Things Down

automator slow down apps1 Speeding Up Login By Slowing Things Down

The title sounds like an oxymoron, but in theory, this method can increase the speed of access. A logon process usually follows these lines to enter your password, you will be authenticated. You will then begin to load items such as the Finder, Dock and other key processes. The last step is to load all the applications you have made the charge for the connection. This is where you can slow down the computer, the other measures that you can not do much. If you have 10 applications that you want to boot your Mac can access numbness, simply because they really highlight the hard drive. If you can time when you want to run applications that can accelerate the entry into a whole.

In fact, this method is very simple. Instead of having all elements of your connection to your account in setting the System Preferences to be replaced by a Autormator Script. Here you can adjust the time of release. The first, as you guessed in May, is to launch Automator.

Display iCal Events and a To Do list on your desktop

February 24th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in App Store, MacBook, MacOS, Software

ical on desktop 129x300 Display iCal Events and a To Do list on your desktopRecently, I tried different ways to display the current day events and to-dos in iCal on my desktop. I wanted a way to quickly check what I have to do that day without having to open iCal, Dashboard or any application, and finally I found a method I was happy. The screenshot below shows how I made mine, but it is quite easy to customize to their own needs. Here are the steps to take if you want to do it yourself.

1. Get iCalBuddy and GeekTool
For this you need to download two (free) applications. The first GeekTool is a preference pane that lets you view image files and shell scripts on the desktop. The second is iCalBuddy, a command line utility that allows you to access events and pending tasks, without having to open iCal.

GeekTool download and install it by double-clicking on the preferences. Now you can access by going to System Preferences and look for the bottom line.

Download iCalBuddy from here and double-click it to unzip the folder. The installation is a little bit complicated. Open up Terminal (located in Applications/Utilities) and type cd followed by a space. Now drag the iCalBuddy folder onto the Terminal window and hit Enter. Finally, type sudo ./install.sh and hit enter. To test if everything is installed properly, try typing in icalbuddy eventsToday, which should bring up a list of today’s events.

Apple’s upgraded $999 13-inch white MacBook offers a lot of value

January 31st, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in MacBook

090121 white macbook Apple’s upgraded $999 13 inch white MacBook offers a lot of value“The 2009 MacBook White looks like all the previous white MacBooks, but there are some significant changes under the hood. The biggest difference is the inclusion of nVidia GeForce 9400M graphics, the same video circuitry introduced with the Unibody MacBook in October 2008. The revised MacBook White also moves from an 800 MHz system bus to 1066 MHz,” Dan Knight reports for Low End Mac.

“However, not everything is a step forward. Where the entry-level Penryn MacBook and the previous MacBook White had 2.1 GHz CPUs, the new model runs at 2.0 GHz. However, this is a newer version of the Core 2 Duo CPU, so it may actually outperform the earlier 2.1 GHz models. And in contrast to the Unibody MacBook, the MacBook White continues to use PC5300 DDR2 memory on a 667 MHz memory bus – and ships with 2 GB, twice as much as the 2008 MacBook White,” Knight reports.

“Perhaps the most surprising thing of all is that the 2009 MacBook White includes a FireWire 400 port, the only portable Mac so equipped, and has a Mini DVI port for an external display rather than the newer Mini DisplayPort found on all other current MacBooks (Unibody, Pro, and Air),” Knight reports. “For those seeking an affordable MacBook, the new US$999 model offers a lot. It should have comparable performance to the 2.0 GHz Unibody MacBook, although memory access may be a bit slower. At $300 less than the low-end Unibody MacBook, it provides a lot of value.”

concept Rumor: Apple and AT & T 3G prepare a MacBook

We move the other day. The idea is not new, in fact, is doing some NetBooks. Apple and AT & T, would be preparing the launch of a new MacBook or a handheld device, equipped with 3G technology. Steve Jobs acknowledged that it was investigating new products and the possibility of equipping a model of 3G mobile technology. Many of the portable market and implement it.

Operators seem very happy with this market and know they go hand in hand with Apple usually means success. What would make the difference, would be available services and software. Apple could carry much of the iPhone’s software and to include in a new version multitáctil MacOS X, which would make the machine in a very interesting product. The process is very quick and simple as the iPhone’s software is based on MacOS X.

If at the end of this comes to fruition, would enable a large number of users remain constantly connected with the benefits that entails. Internet access and continued MobileMe from anywhere you have 3G coverage (go to GPRS / EDGE where 3G coverage has not). I repeat that nothing is new since this can be done through a long 3G phone with Bluetooth or a 3G USB modem, you can even get through the iPhone with some “tweaks.” But sometimes it is cumbersome, and the solution of a dedicated 3G card for the computer is much more attractive.
