After the devastating news yesterday about Apple’s abandonment of its presence at the Macworld, the blogosphere has been awash with elucubraciones and assumptions about the relationship of this news with the current global economic situation, state of health of Steve Jobs or state fairs exhibitions. As to the latter many are pessimistic, and it seems that this time we have right.
And is that the hand of Macworld comes the news that the Apple Expo in Paris, an event that is usually held every September, was canceled. Looking to the past, Apple made his last keynote at the event in Paris in 2004 to introduce the iMac G5, and reported that it would no longer be present in it for almost half a year.
It is quite similar to what is happening with the Macworld Expo, so we can say that history repeats itself. However, the Macworld seems to be in better health since we already know that there will be a Macworld 2010.
Paul Kent, vice president of the event, the general public has expressed its “disappointment” after knowing the decision to stop Apple from hold Keynotes at Macworld, but is optimistic and expects many more years of successful Macworld. ” We hope so, although the absence of Apple could well influence the number of visitors.
The Macworld 2010 was held from 4 to January 8 of that year, and “will continue to provide product demonstrations and focus on the ways in which people are using Apple products to facilitate their efforts.”
